Ushering the New year 2024

It's was a magnificent sight at Nyeri Command as the Commissioner General of Prisons Brig (Rtd) John K. Warioba,CBS joined staff and inmates to  celebrate  the new year .

The occasion  was graced by His Excellency  the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya Hon. Rigathi Gachagua,  EGH, Her Execellency The Spouse of The Deputy President Pastor Dr. Dorcas Rigathi,Principal Secreatary State department for Correctional Service Dr. Salome Muhia-Beacco, CBS,His Excellency Hon.Mutahi Kahiga Governor Nyeri County,Senator Nyeri County Hon.Wahome Wamatinga

The delegation was received by the Regional Commander ACGP Ali Athman.The  celebration began with a service  presided over by Pastor Dr. Dorcas Rigathi  where  she encouraged the inmates with the illustration of Joseph in bible and committed to championing for safe environment after release.

The keynote speaker  His Excellency the Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua, EGH encouraged inmates to follow through rehabilation course offered .He empahsized on the governments committment to modernize Prison industries Prison facilities,improve the staff welfare through better housing, salary increment that will be effective 1st July to boost the officers morale.

 The Commissioner General of Prisons appreciated  the Deputy President for choosing to celebrate the new year with Nyeri Command.

The event  culminated with the Deputy President serving, sharing lunch and handing over  donations  to both staff, inmates and children accompanying their mother's.

Senior officers present  include OIC Nyeri Women,OIC Nyeri Medium  ,Nyeri County security officials among others.
